Welcome

I’m Helen, an integrative counsellor rooted in person centred values.  I offer a safe, confidential space to explore whatever you may be going through. Therapy with me is flexible, online, in person, by phone, or even outdoors in nature.  I work one-to-one with adults (18+) across a wide range of concerns.  Whatever your experiences, identity or background, you are welcome here.  â€‹â€‹

Therapy offers a space where you can get support and work through current or past difficulties and traumas. These might include a bereavement, relationship breakdown, childhood abuse or neglect, other traumatic events, coping with a chronic illness, recovering from injury or work stress.  Counselling can enable you to find peace with what has happened to you and face the future with confidence.  I encourage you to explore your thoughts and feelings about your problems, challenges and future goals at your own pace.

My approach

I am a client centredintegrative counsellor, which means I’m trained in multiple ways of working, and together we can find the style which suits you best.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and work within their ethical framework.  I also have an Enhanced Disclosure certificate from the Criminal Records office allowing me to work with vulnerable adults.

How I may be able to help

I offer both short and longer term therapy within a safe, quiet and private space to help you work through whatever issues you bring.  You may not be able to put your finger on exactly why you need help, but our work might be to gain understanding and insight into formative experiences. Perhaps you feel you are already aware of the issues, but still cannot move beyond them?  In this case we can gently explore, until they no longer stand in your way.  We might also look at what strategies and resources might be helpful to you.

Fee

£50 per 50-minute session.

I offer a small number of reduced-fee spaces for those on low incomes or in financial difficulty. These are limited and subject to availability but please feel free to ask if this would make therapy more accessible for you.

Seeking out therapy can feel daunting, and it is important that you feel comfortable working with me.  With this in mind, I offer a free 20-minute telephone call, during which we can get a sense of each other and talk about your reasons for seeking counselling

and what you'd like to gain from it.
