Welcome
I’m Helen, an integrative counsellor grounded in person centred values. I offer a safe, quiet and private space where you can explore whatever you may be going through.

I work one to one with adults aged 18 and over, and welcome people of all backgrounds, identities and life experiences. Therapy with me is flexible and can take place online, in person, by phone, or where appropriate, outdoors in nature.

My approach:
I work in a client centred and integrative way. This means our work is guided by what you need, at a pace that feels right for you. Rather than following a fixed method, I draw on different therapeutic approaches and respond to you as an individual.

I offer both short term and longer term counselling, depending on what feels most helpful for you.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their ethical framework. I also hold an Enhanced Disclosure certificate, allowing me to work with vulnerable adults.

How I may be able to help:

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may have a clear sense of what is troubling you, or you may simply feel that something is not quite right, without being able to put it into words.

Therapy offers space to receive support and to work through current or past difficulties. This might include bereavement, relationship breakdown, childhood experiences, trauma, living with illness, or pressures related to work or life more generally, which can sometimes show up as stress, anxiety or low mood.

In our work together, I encourage you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Sometimes people already understand what they are struggling with, but still feel stuck or unable to move forward. Therapy can offer a steady space to explore things more deeply, to make sense of your experiences, and to support a shift from a place of difficulty or struggle towards greater understanding and ease.

Alongside this, we can look at what might support you in the present, including helpful strategies, resources, or small changes that can bring a greater sense of steadiness or relief.

Fee:

£50 per 50-minute session.
I offer a small number of reduced-fee spaces for those on low incomes or in financial difficulty. These are limited and subject to availability but please feel free to ask if this would make therapy more accessible for you.

Seeking out therapy can feel daunting, and it is important that you feel comfortable working with me. With this in mind, I offer a free 20-minute telephone call, during which we can get a sense of each other and talk about your reasons for seeking counselling
and what you'd like to gain from it.
